The Tone of the Day Has Changed

When I wake up on Sunday, I usually turn on the iTunes classical channel. I make my coffee, scramble my eggs, etc. to a varying cavalcade of classical’s heavy hitters: Vivaldi, Mozart, Chopin and their merry gangs.

Today is different. A bunch of old Misfits albums turned up in iTunes’ music store. I bought them, all the while resentful of whatever jackass stole my physical copies of all my Misfits albums with the exception of American Psycho.

Doing laundry, brining pork chops and going to church acquires a unique texture when done with a Misfits soundtrack. For example, the Holy Spirit is very different when you imagine Him as the Crimson Ghost.

Danzig is going to be at the Roxy on March 5. I hear he’s mostly playing old stuff.

New New Order!

Hot damn. I found New Order’s new video for their first single off Waiting for the Siren’s Call. The song is called “Krafty” and it’s very different from the stuff on their last album. It’s a lot more like Technique or maybe Republic. In fact, the song itself has similar sounds as “Regret,” but it features way more of Peter Hook’s signature bass.

Want to watch it? Of course you do. Tragically, it’s only in .rm format, but there’s nothing I can do about that. I was so excited about seeing this that I actually downloaded and installed that mess of spyware and viruses just to watch it.

German-Car-Driving Yuppie Douchebag (Me)

I love Volkswagen.

It Is Time for a Party

rats.

The Patriots? The Patriots are a legacy team?

For fuck’s sake.

A Pack of Lies

Apparently there’s an electrical product named the wheelsnake. El Genius destroys them.

Click on the notwheelsnake to listen to some new music! Thirteen megs or so; .mp3 format. If anyone cares, I’ll post a track listing. Note that there’s a layover bug in the middle of the third track. Too bad.

LATE ADDENDUM: Here’s the track list.
Mylo, “Muscle Car”
The Knife, “Heartbeats”
Alter Ego, “Rocker”
Aloud, “Rocky XIII”
Anthony Rother, “Punks”
Client, “Radio”
Superpitcher, “Happiness”
This last track is so German it needs to be wrestled to the ground and threatened with war-crime prosecution. Listen to that crazy-ass two-minute breakdown! Freaks.
